These terms are the understanding between you and the Rāmāyaṇa Lab. By using the Lab you agree to them — please read them with the same attention you'd give a first verse.
Use the Lab respectfully and for personal study. Premium features unlock with a one-time purchase — there is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. The teachings are drawn from a public tradition, but our translations, audio, artwork, and lessons are ours — please don't copy or resell them.
By accessing or using the Rāmāyaṇa Lab, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which are part of these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Lab.
The Lab's content is suitable for all ages, but the Lab is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. To create an account or make a purchase you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live. If you allow someone under that age in your household to read the Lab, you do so under your supervision and remain responsible for their use, and these terms apply to you.
If you create an account, you sign in securely with Google — we never see or store a password. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity under your account, and for giving accurate information. Tell us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use.
The Lab is for personal, non-commercial study and devotion. You agree not to:
The Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa belongs to the shared heritage of humankind, and we present it with reverence. But the form the Lab gives it — our English translations and commentary, the read-aloud narration and audio, the illustrations and seals, the 30-Day Path lessons, quizzes, and the design and software of the Lab itself — is our original work, protected by copyright and other rights.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Lab for your own study. You may quote the sacred verses freely; please do not reproduce our original material without permission.
The Lab is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Please also read our Disclaimer regarding the nature and accuracy of the content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Lab and its makers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Lab. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
You may stop using the Lab and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if required for security or by law, or if we discontinue a feature. On termination, the licence granted to you ends, though clauses that by their nature should survive — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability — will continue to apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of Hyderabad, India, unless local law gives you other rights.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use the Lab after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
The Rāmāyaṇa Lab is operated by Dr. Tejaswi Katravulapally, Hyderabad, India.
